Testimonials

These are just a few of the testimonials gathered for Ryan, not just from clients, but other professionals as well.

I have been working with Ryan for seven weeks. At first it was more a mental lift, as I was definately out of shape and needed toning, strength, and conditioning. But, through positive reinforcement (and a sense of humor), hard work, challenging workouts, and lots of sweat, progress has been made. I am now at a point where I can see results in how clothes fit in addition to the extra energy I have. I look forward to our meetings, to see what he has in store for me. Each workout is a little different ~ some are a lot different ~ but I always come away with a sense of accomplishment at surviving the challenge! Not bad for 59.....

I started working with Ryan through his Natural Running Clinic (a great clinic if you get the chance). After the clinic, Ryan took me on as a client. Ryan is one of the most knowledgeable trainer/coaches I have ever worked with. His knowledge doesn’t stop with running or endurance either. From kinetic taping, diet, supplements, to natural allergy relief Ryan has helped me with them all. Even now when I’m not working with Ryan regularly he refers to me as his client answers any questions I have, and gives recommendations! If you are considering working with Ryan be prepared he will find your weaknesses, and make you work to become a better, stronger you. But isn’t that what you want?

I injured my IT band during a 1/2 marathon in May. After the race, I went to a local orthopedist and he recommended physical therapy 3x a week for an undetermined amount of time. Four weeks of therapy and I was still limping. During this time, my husband and I went to a running clinic and that's where we met Ryan. After the clinic, I scheduled a gait analysis with him. I wanted to know what was causing this injury and how I could fix it and prevent it from happening again. I was planning to run my first full marathon in the fall and was concerned that I wouldn't be able to begin training. Ryan was able to see what was causing my IT issues. I decided to stop my physical therapy and began training sessions with him. He provided great information and exercises to help strengthen and improve my running. After four weeks of training with Ryan, I was able to begin my training for the full. In addition to helping me with my injury, he helped me with race day nutrition. With Ryan's knowledge and advice, I was able to successfully complete the Columbus marathon this fall.

I am writing to share my strong recommendation of Ryan S. I have been coming to Lifetime Fitness Center for over 6 years, have worked with several wonderful trainers, and have made great progress, losing over 70 pounds and building my overall cardio and strength fitness. I feel more fit and capable at 61 years old than I have since I was in my twenties. I really enjoyed running in high school and college and I have wanted to get back into running for years, but have been hampered with frequent lower leg injuries. Most recently, I have been struggling with Achilles tendinopathy and plantar faciitis for over 6 months. The good news is I'm running again! I have worked with Ryan for a couple of months now. He did a very detailed fitness, flexibility and, importantly, running gait assessment. Based on his analysis, he was able to confidently identify some serious gait and running form issues that are likely the cause of my sporadic injuries. Under his guidance and coaching, I began a series of drills, strength training and rehabilitation actions, including different running shoes and home massage exercises. Ryan also developed a tailored strength training and running plan to help me recover from my injuries and gradually improve my running form and capabilities. As a result, I can now run confidently and comfortably at the pace and distances I want (typically four to five miles at 7+ mph). I recently ran in a 3000+ person 5K and achieved my personal best time of 23:57 and finished first in my age division! I deeply appreciate the professional, friendly and very knowledgeable coaching from Ryan.

Hi Ryan,
Kudos to you!  I’ve heard nothing but glowing remarks about your presentation last night.  Our Ryan said that it went very well, that patrons loved it, and that you did a great job.  The evaluations were super positive too.  Our patrons definitely want another program like this in the future.  Thank you so much for teaching it!
